The BUGS, Etc. Homepage
Site last updated on Friday,  June 20, 2008
My name is David Albaugh, aka The Bug Guy. I received this nickname from students after doing classroom presentations on Entomology (see the link for The Bug Guy on this page). I have been a lifelong lover of insects, starting collecting at around the age of seven (sometime in 1974). In addition to doing classroom presentations and having a private collection, I also put together customized collections of insects for private collectors, schools and offices (see the BUGS, Etc. link on this page). If you ever have questions or needs concerning Entomology feel free to e-mail me at any time. I am in the process of revamping the entire BUGS, Etc. species-for-sale section - this is going to take some time as I am doing everything from scratch - everything from the old website has been erased. Something new I will be doing this summer is adding two new informational sections, one on butterfly gardening and one on raising your own butterflies and moths. I hope the new site and all of its improvements are to your liking. Keep in mind that I will do my best to update this site on a regular basis, time permitting. Updates may be rarer during the spring/summer months since this is when I am busy raising lepidoptera and working in my butterfly gardens.
This is me demonstrating the web-making capabilities of a tarantula in the classroom. I wear the rubber gloves, not because I'm afraid of a bite, but because the hairs can cause a very itchy rash if they get on your skin!

One of the world's most aggressive of tarantulas, the Cobalt Blue, also known as Haplopelma lividum from Northern Malaysia (and YES, it really is blue!!!).
I photographed this newly hatched Monarch butterfly (Danaus plexippus) in 2005.
